WOMEN'S PROFESSIONAL SOCCER
The Women's Professional Soccer League--Does it even exist?
After the summer of 2011, there was an idea that Women's Soccer would become popular in the United States. The U.S. Women's soccer team had been an exciting team to watch during the Women's World Cup. They were playing aggressive soccer that allowed them to reach the Finals, where there was a large attendance and a large TV Audience as well.

Soccer isn't a popular sport in America. Soccer isn't on the top 5 or the top 10 list, but in other countries of the world, soccer is very important. Soccer is more than just a game in other countries. So why does it seem to be overlooked in America?
If you have any answers, please tell me, because I don't know the answers.
Women's Professional Soccer had created a league in 2007 and play had started in 2009, but I have never seen one Woman's Soccer game on television. I rarely even get to see Men's Soccer.
Now, in 2012, the WPS (Women's Professional Soccer) has suspended it's operations for the season. According to Julie Foudy, the league had struggles on holding teams together. Four teams folded from the league and now there are problems with magicJack (Team in South Florida) after being accused of rules violations that were connected to the league's business operations.

Women's Soccer may not be very popular for many different reasons, but there are still many who would like to see it's growth in the United States. Personally, I would love to see this industry finally grow in popularity as a Sports Management Major.
I remember when I was younger and Women's Soccer used to be on T.V. I wasn't interested in sports very much, but I still remember clearly about how popular Mia Hamm was. What she brought to the United States Women's Soccer team was different than anyone else and it is something that I won't easily forget.
Today, I just want to see them do something positive, instead of seeing all the negative things about Women's Soccer.
